Win a free Aurora Borealis Cruise in Rovaniemi

Are you travelling to Rovaniemi between 15th and 30th of October? Then you have the chance to win a free an Aurora Borealis Cruise.

The Autumn season is particularly good for taking Auroras because statistically there are more Northern Lights happening towards the Equinoxes (science does not explain why) and we are not far away from the Autumn Equinox. Now, when the rivers are not yet frozen, the water sights make for some wonderful locations to experience and photograph Auroras as you might also capture their reflection in the water.

Lapland Safaris & Hello Lapland!

Lapland Safaris together with Hello Lapland want to provide you, our reader, a possibility to experience Auroras on this interesting time of the year when we move from the falling leaves of Autumn until the first winter frosts. And we want to do it for free!

Lapland Safaris will provide us with a travel boat and a guide, who will take us out into the dark, away from the city lights. I will also be on board providing some advice on Aurora chasing and photographic techniques if needed. We will go up the river to find a suitable place for seeing Auroras.

Here’s how to take part in our contest:

Please state if:

  1. you would like to come alone or if you are a couple, your name(s),
  2. the exact dates of your visit and the place of your stay (a hotel name, for example).
  3. If you want to get some advice on taking Aurora photos, inform us about your level of photo experience (for example, beginner, intermediate or expert). Please note that we will not be able to provide you with photo equipment, such as cameras or tripods, so they must be your own. You must also pay for your own travel arrangements to get to Rovaniemi, as well as accommodation and other expenses on sight.

Please also share the post with the rules of the contest, published Lapland Safaris Facebook page – it is an essential part!

Please note that we will be taking pictures and videos about the trip and sharing them online.

Depending on the time of your visit, we will choose one night at the period of 15–30.10.2015 for our trip. The exact date will be confirmed right before our start, probably on a short notice, because we have to take into account such factors as Aurora and weather forecast. We will choose the best night when the sky is be clear and seeing Auroras is probable. The trip will happen between 22 and 02 hours. Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee seeing Auroras and we might cancel the trip altogether if the weather conditions are poor. If the nights will be cloudy and rainy there is no point of heading out.

We reserve the right to choose particular participant(s) eligible for a free trip according to our criteria which we choose not to disclose. The winner(s) of the free trip will be notified personally and, upon confirmation of participation, the names of the winner(s) will be announced on social media and at online pages of Lapland The Magazine.

Good luck and hope to see you with us!
